Kind David is in the heights of his kingdom in the land of Palestine having conquered many of the surrounding nations and his borders being vast says;

1 Chronicles 29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
29:14 But who [am] I, and what [is] my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things [come] of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
29:15 For we [are] strangers before thee, and sojourners, as [were] all our fathers: our days on the earth [are] as a shadow, and [there is] none abiding.

Here they are as powerful nation in the midst of the land of Canaan and the prophet David says we are strangers and sojourners even as our fathers were. Lot went his way and Abraham went his way and God came to speak with Abraham again to repeat his promise;

Genesis 13:14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

Hasn’t Lot just gone off to the left and right, east to west? But God said look that way to the way Lot has gone and he said;

Genesis 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
13:16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, [then] shall thy seed also be numbered.
13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

North, south, east and west is a long breadth. That is the whole entire earth. As Stephen said he received no inheritance not so much as to set his foot on. Abraham lived to a good old age but he never received the promise. God had promised that he would receive it. Not just his seed but he himself would receive the inheritance.

Isaac, Jacob died and the twelve sons died and none of them received the promised inheritance. Did Gods promise fail? God says in Isaiah that the word that proceeds from his mouth will not return void but will accomplish the thing said. God’s promises do not fail. Abraham died in faith. He died in hope knowing that he would receive his inheritance. He took the word of God and believed it.

Genesis 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

For what? A possession for a couple of generations or so many centuries? For an everlasting possession. The promise of God was for a heavenly country. An everlasting possession, an everlasting country. This land which was promised that he had not set his foot on, he himself was to inherit it. Those who live and possess an everlasting possession, what must they be and have? If you are to enjoy something eternally what kind of life must you have? You must have eternal life. The promise to be was a promise of eternal life. Abraham believed that God would raise him from the dead and that he would be given an inheritance on a earth made new. To dwell in a city which had foundations. We know what city that is.

Revelation 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

This city that had foundations John saw it coming down to earth. This is the inheritance that Abraham looked for and nothing short of it. You can dig your wells, you can go whichever way you want, I don’t care. I am waiting for an earth made new. This earth made new was promised to Abraham and his seed. To who was the promise of inheritance made to?

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

The promise of God was that he would give immortal inheritance, the everlasting possession to Jesus Christ. This was the heir who would inherit. We know that when Jesus receives his kingdom, when he comes to claim it as his own, it will be renewed and he will come and dwell with man.

The everlasting covenant that God made with Abraham that he would give the land to Jesus Christ. Only to Jesus Christ? Would Jesus Christ be the only inheritor of this land? No he had said to thee and thy seed.

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

While the children of Israel were in Egypt God took them out to train them yet they continued to want their own way but he was always there to redeem them from their own self will. Apprentices just prior to His second coming will need to learn very quickly because they are living at a time when their lifetime isn’t long enough for sanctification. They will have to learn very quickly.

Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
9:28 For he will finish the work, and cut [it] short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

As we get to the end and he has given Israel the church plenty of time to make their mistakes ultimately a remnant will be saved. He is going to work fast among the remnant. That is why it says we should not be conformed to this world but transformed to prove the perfect will of God. Jesus is trying to bring us as a people into discipleship for the last days to hasten our perfection. The people in these last days are identified. What will they do?

Isaiah 58:12 And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Those that will be of God in these last days are going to correct the things that have been altered. There are things that are not God’s perfect will that have caused many problems in Israel that many people are relying on. They want the divorces, multiple wives, kings and all sorts of things.

The genuine remnant people will revert back to Gods original and perfect ways. Jesus is trying to bring such a people to a point. To build the waste places means to correct the things that had been altered from His perfect will. God’s remnant will revert to the old, perfect ways.

How long will heaven keep Jesus?

Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

What is holding Jesus back? He can’t come back until there is the restitution of all things. A little remnant at the end when he cuts short his work in righteousness is going to stand there and go on the principle of God’s perfect will, a restitution of all things which God had spoken since the world began. That is what Jesus is waiting for. A remnant to stand with the original old plan in place.

“Deny self; ye must step fast.” Some of us have had time to get the truth and to advance step by step, and every step we have taken has given us strength to take the next. But now time is almost finished, and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months. They will also have much to unlearn and much to learn again. {EW 67.2}

This is the remnant. The people who join the remnant will have to learn fast. They have not the years that the pioneers of this message had. They will have to learn very fast. The reality of apprentices who do not appeal to God’s permissive will can reach this much faster. They don’t have to hang themselves before they can learn. They can learn quickly if they realise that God has a permissive will but they don’t want to go by that, but follow God’s perfect instruction of the way Jesus wants to do it. They readily submit to His perfect will. These people are especially honoured.

What is he able to do? If we will trust him in this work of sanctification, he will cut short his work in righteousness. He will present them faultless. The 144,000 are those whom He is able to keep from falling and present them faultless before His presence. God then comes with extra appeal;

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find [him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
4:30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, [even] in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
4:31 (For the LORD thy God [is] a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Even in the latter days if you turn to the Lord and be obedient unto his voice and to his perfect will, by being obedient he can prepare a people who will not appeal to his permissive will but be willing to learn the quick way. Not until the people are there as he appeals, as he wants them in the latter days to be in that position, not until he has them there can he come. He will return after the restitution of all things. The willingness to follow his perfect will hasten his coming.

Q & A on Doctrine

The book, Seventh-day Adventists Answer Questions On Doctrine was written to answer specific questions asked by certain scholars and representatives of other Christian denominations as to what we believed on certain major doctrinal points. Thus it does not cover the full spectrum of SDA thought, but only those areas in which other Christians wanted explanation of things they had heard about our beliefs.

Psalm 22:14
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
I had a friend who thought some boys were trying to mug him. In his efforts to run away, he fell down a flight of stairs and landed in a pile of garbage. He suffered many broken bones and scrapes, and required a large number of stitches. As he lay in pain and refuse, he heard the boys draw close. He prayed to God for help. He heard the boys getting steadily closer, and as his prayers increased, the boys moved out of the alley and across to the top of the steps. IN the light that shined there, the man saw that the boys were scouts. IN a wave of relief and embarrassment, my friend sank back into the garbage and passed out.
It is good to know that even in our own foolishness we can turn to the Lord for help. Often we are our own worst enemies, but that doesn't matter to the Lord. In our brokenness, God reaches out to us and love us.
Prayer: Lord, I often am guilty of doing foolish things. I hurt myself in so many needless ways. Protect me from myself, and in my times of greatest suffering and pain, be the source of my comfort. Amen.

Spirit of Prophecy

______________________________
ank God for the bright pictures which He has presented to us. Let us group together the blessed assurances of His love, that we may look upon them continually: The Son of God leaving His Father's throne, clothing His divinity with humanity, that He might rescue man from the power of Satan; His triumph in our behalf, opening heaven to men, revealing to human vision the presence chamber where the Deity unveils His glory; the fallen race uplifted from the pit of ruin into which sin had plunged it, and brought again into connection with the infinite God, and having endured the divine test through faith in our Redeemer, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, and exalted to His throne--these are the pictures which God would have us contemplate. The Persecution of Dr. Aegidio
Dr. Aegidio was educated at the university of Alcala, where he took his several degrees, and particularly applied himself to the study of the sacred Scriptures and school divinity. When the professor of theology died, he was elected into his place, and acted so much to the satisfaction of every one that his reputation for learning and piety was circulated throughout Europe.
Aegidio, however, had his enemies, and these laid a complaint against him to the inquisitors, who sent him a citation, and when he appeared to it, cast him into a dungeon.
As the greatest part of those who belonged to the cathedral church at Seville, and many persons belonging to the bishopric of Dortois highly approved of the doctrines of Aegidio, which they thought perfectly consonant with true religion, they petitioned the emperor in his behalf. Though the monarch had been educated a Roman Catholic, he had too much sense to be a bigot, and therefore sent an immediate order for his enlargement.
He soon after visited the church of Valladolid, and did every thing he could to promote the cause of religion. Returning home he soon after fell sick, and died in an extreme old age.
The inquisitors having been disappointed of gratifying their malice against him while living, determined (as the emperor's whole thoughts were engrossed by a military expedition) to wreak their vengeance on him when dead. Therefore, soon after he was buried, they ordered his remains to be dug out of the grave; and a legal process being carried on, they were condemned to be burnt, which was executed accordingly.

Epilogue– The Three Angels’ Messages
Chapter 20
Before I conclude this book, I would like to say that I love Catholics. In fact, most of my family are Roman Catholic. My message is not, therefore, an attack on Catholic people, but an unmasking of the Roman Catholic system as antichrist. There are many people connected with this religious denomination that are indeed true Christians. It is not my intention, in any way, to judge the hearts of these individuals, but to expose the system in which they worship, especially at a time in which it seeks to impose its Babylonian system worldwide in a New World Order. At such a time as this, the following Scripture applies: “For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” (Rev. 18: 5).
Many times my own parents have asked me the question: “Why must you write about another person’s beliefs; why knock their church?” Believe me, friends, I take no pleasure in exposing the sins of Babylon, but consider it a mandate from God, since Antichrist has attempted to usurp His throne and authority, and the multitudes that follow it will be lost as a result. Others will say, “This is not love, and you profess to be a Christian!” Always remember the following: “True love seeks first the honor of God and the salvation of souls. Those who have this love will not evade the truth to save themselves from the unpleasant results of plain speaking. When souls are in peril, God’s ministers will not consider self, but will speak the word given to speak, refusing to excuse or palliate evil.” (Prophets and Kings, pp. 141, 142). On the battlefield of Good vs. Evil, Right vs. Wrong, and Truth vs. Error, with eternal destiny at stake, does anyone dare to claim immunity from critical examination of false beliefs simply because they are part of a religion? After all, this is at the very heart of what “the great controversy between Christ and Satan” is all about!
Friends, the war between Christ and Satan is ages old. Revelation 12: 7 says: “There was war in heaven: Michael [Christ— see Jude 9, I Thess. 4: 16, and John 5: 26- 29] and His angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.” Thus, the great controversy between good and evil, which had its beginning in Heaven when Satan was the beautiful cherub, Lucifer, has continued on this earth since the time of Adam and Eve. Satan will use any medium necessary, not excluding religious or political organizations, or even a false apparition of the Virgin Mary in his efforts to destroy God’s people. Just as the master deceiver used the serpent, he has used Pharaoh of Egypt, Nebucchadnezzer of Babylon, Herod of Rome, certain kings of Israel, and the Scribes and the Pharisees. And today he is using the Roman papacy to further accomplish his purposes, which will reach their climax in the near future. Since Roman Catholicism has intoxicated nearly every religious organization with her false doctrines, as well as the kings and the inhabitants of the earth, Satan is ready to strike at any moment, and for the last time.
According to Bible prophecies and the marshaling of events all about us that are obviously related to the fulfillment of those prophecies, we are now standing but a short distance from the full- blown fulfillment of the “mark of the beast” vs. “the seal of God” issue portrayed so graphically in Revelation 13 and 14. The New World Order and its One World Religion (which will demand the worship of Sunday by every human being on this planet) is ready to be implemented. And is God ready for the crisis? Absolutely! And His answer is contained in Revelation 14: 6- 12— the Three Angels’ Messages! “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven [the urgency with which this vital message must be given], having the everlasting gospel [the one and only gospel of the Holy Scriptures] to preach [the message must be heard] unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice [it is a life- or- death message], fear God [get your lives in harmony with His commandments], and give glory to Him [reflect His character or law in your life]; for the hour of His judgment is [not ‘will’] come [the hour of final accountability is here]; and worship Him [not the beast (Rome) or its image (apostate Protestantism) when Sunday observance is enforced by law] that made [for He is the Creator] heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water [the words contained in the fourth commandment— the Sabbath ; in other words, “Observe My holy day ”]. And there followed another angel [the message is important enough to command special attention], saying, Babylon [Protestant Churches have begun to reject the 1st Angel’s message for Babylonish traditions], is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations [the whole world] drink of the wine [they have swallowed, among others, her false doctrines of Sunday sacredness and the immortality of the soul] of the wrath of her fornication [spiritual adultery]. And the third angel followed them [backing up the first two angels’ messages with the most terrible warning in the Bible], saying with a loud voice [the message is most urgent], If any man worship the beast or his image, and receive his mark [Sunday— a commandment of man] in his forehead [he believes it], or in his hand [he meekly goes along with it], The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone [Eternal Fire will consume the wicked and is eternal in its effects (see Malachi 4: 1, 3; Jude 7)] in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever: [In the Greek, aion, an indefinite period of time. It could be anything from a moment to an extensive period of time, depending on the ingredients of what is being discussed. The wicked are punished according to their works. Obviously, their lengths of punishment will vary. Satan will suffer longest. But, all the wicked will be entirely consumed. (See Rev. 20: 12- 14; II Thess. 1: 8, 9; and again Mal. 4: 1, 3)]… who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God [not Rome], and the faith of Jesus [for it is only by faith in Christ and through His grace that we can obey His commandments].”
The most solemn message in the whole of Scripture is the Three Angels’ Messages, for it is the last warning to the world before probation closes once and for all! It really is not that difficult to understand the prophecies of Revelation when you learn what the signs and symbols mean. I remember the first time I read the Three Angels’ Messages after receiving wisdom and understanding from God. Not only did I fall in love with them, I wanted to share them with the whole world; and I pray you will, too, for it is a message of salvation! Share this book with whomever you can. Send it to your friends and family, maybe to a whole city! But whatever you do, do something now! And God will reward you greatly. The promise is “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Rev 1: 3). May the grace of Almighty God be with you, brothers and sisters, and, remember, you have nothing to fear, for the Lord of hosts and His truth will triumph in the end.
“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven [a fourth angel joins with the Three Angels of Rev. 14: 6- 12 and gives added power to the message], having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird . For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. [Is God wrong here to speak so negatively of a worldwide ‘religious’ combine which rejects Heaven’s final warning of mercy— the Three Angels’ Messages? Which enforces life- threatening penalties against those who faithfully bear God’s last warning appeals under the mighty power of the Holy Spirit? and which willingly submits itself to ‘the power of darkness’ in the form of spiritualism? Because its work bears the label ‘religion, ’ does it legally merit immunity from exposure of its falsity by the truth of God’s Word? Or are the laws now being stealthily set in place forbidding ‘attacks’ on other religious beliefs actually selfserving devices of the ‘father of lies’ to prevent the disclosure of his artful deceptions and deadly masquerades to lead multitudes to perdition?] And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people , that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. [Is it not heartwarming that God’s last endeavor in the ‘great controversy’ between Christ and Satan before probation ends once and forever for fallen mankind is to rescue His true followers from doomed Babylon before the Seven Last Plagues begin! God truly cares for His Own. Not a single honest soul will be lost! Praise God! From first to last, the ‘great controversy’ is primarily a spiritual battle!] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen [for all the world was her seat, but soon the wicked of this world will turn on her because they have been the victims of her deceptions], and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.” (Revelation 18: 1- 8)!

Relationships 101
If you are in a relationship and you truly love someone you would do things to make them happy
right?
Take my dear beloved Wife I love her and I'm willing to do anything to make her happy.
To make her smile. If you love your partner you can understand.
Marriage is a partnership it a joining together of two people two minds two characters, two souls
Though things in common are there
There are still differences.
Weather it be opinions, or how to manage money, clean a house etc.
You work together to resolve the issues. You meet in the middle when you love each other sometimes submit to each other's feelings out of love.
Meat Loaf wrote a song a wile back called I will do anything for love but I want do that.
What was it that Meat Loaf would not do?
What is it that you would not do for your partner?
What is that you would not do for Jesus?
Just like your Marriage we are married to Jesus by excepting His love of grace and becoming part of the fold the Church.
The Church is Said here in
John 3:29
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled
To be the Bride of Christ we as Christians are Married to Christ Jesus.
When you marry your partner you sign a marriage certificate. The vows are read
Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together here in the sign of God – and in the face of this company – to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony, which is commended to be honorable among all men;
Then each is read this
Do you take this person to be your spouse – to live together after God’s ordinance – in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love them, or comfort them, honor and keep them, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon them your heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto them as long as you both shall live?

Notice will you love them!
Will you Love Jesus
Notice in the wedding vows are told to the Bride and Groom both were asked to comfort each other
Does not Jesus comfort us
How can we then comfort Jesus?
Honor,Keep Him as has Kept us
Even in our better and our worse Jesus keeps us
We should keep Jesus in our better days and our worst days in sadness and in our joy
When we are rich in our finances and our poorer
we should cherish as He has cherished us because He died for us!
Continually bestow continually bestow OUR DEEPEST DEVOTION!
As Jesus devoted to us!
Forsaking all others forsaking all other gods because there is only one
Because He never leaves us and He never forsakes us!
Keep ourselves unto Jesus as long as you shall live!
Let me ask you a question how can you break your partner's heart?
Adultery!
When you put in place another person in place of your marriage partner
Adultery against Jesus is the same way when you put in place another thing in the place of Jesus
A lot of things can become a god to us it is what we are continually bestowing OUR DEEPEST DEVOTION TO!
Commandment One
Ex 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Were have we falling short what have we put in place of our Lord
Have you ever noticed how after a wile you and your partner can finish each others sentences
Sometimes people would say you look alike
Almost a mirror image
God made man in His image
Adultery
SIN! has broke that bond our image of Him
But Jesus through His grace restores us
Behold He says
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
All things new
He makes us in His image once again
but only through a relationship!
Soon you will finish His sentences His words soon we will reflect Him soon we will become a mirror image people will see us and see Jesus but that is only by continually bestowing OUR DEEPEST DEVOTION!
Don't let thoughts of doubt get in the way
Don't let thoughts of material things get in the way
Commandment Two
Ex20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

This talks about bowing down to images if we are not reflecting Jesus what image are we reflecting
Are we bowing down to some other image
Are we bowing down to our jobs?
Our money!
Our idols
looking up! to other people trying to dress like look like be cool like
Worried about our self image
Jesus's Image is the only image we should reflect
In this case image is everything
Jesus said
Jesus said if he that have seen me you have seen the Father
Jesus reflects the Image of the Father
As a married couple you represent each other
If you act like a fool you make your partner look a fool
Right!
After acting like that your partner don't want to be seen with you
Just like God does not want to be seen by people who supposed to represent Him!
He made us in His image
Sin has blinded us from seeing Him
How many have dealt with a self proclaim Christian and they have acted a total fool in front of people and you your self being a Christian will want to hide because you don't want to be seen with that person
Jesus does not want to be seen with us when we act like a fool
Because we are not representing Him
Who are we representing?
Commandment Three
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
But Jesus is forgiving
Amen!
If we are not living up to His name He will help us
If we ask Him to mold us
To help us on our walk
Like the old saying goes if you talk the talk you should be able to walk the walk
Don't talk about be about it
Represent Christ as you walk on turf after turf
In this case it's good to represent a G
G o d
Amen!
What about time our marriage partners must have time with us right?
In all honesty if your not spending enough time with each other things start to go astray
Just like our time with Jesus if we are not spending time with Him
His word by continually bestowing OUR DEEPEST DEVOTION!
We must devote our time with our partners as well as Jesus
It is a reality that everyone works and time can be consuming on both sides
Its hard to make time but in a loving relationship you make the time you find the time
You take time for each other
We also need to take time for Jesus
When couples make time they set a date they take that time for each other by continually bestowing there DEEPEST DEVOTION!

With out that time the relationship will stray that is the truth
When you planned to get married to your partner you set a date
Then each year you celebrate that day
If you forgot that day your partner would be upset
Well I thought it was this day
Please that would not work after all it's on paper all you have look if you forget
Write on your calendar mark it on your palm pilot,or black berry
But honestly if you love your partner you would do your best to remember
God set a time for us a divine appointment
Commandment 4
Ex 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Nothing should get our way of our time with our partner just like nothing should get in the way with our time with God

He said to remember God does not want us to forget
Go back to Genesis
God created man in His image
Then he made woman
The first God centered marriage
They was married by God
Adam and Eve was married to Him
They had a relationship with God
He set a day He made a day
In this case timing is everything
You would not dare move your marriage to your partner to another day would you?
So why would we dare move our day with God
In the holy estate of matrimony you
Honor God
cherish God
keep God in health, and our time
Bestow upon God our heart’s deepest devotion
forsaking any and everything else that would hinder
our relationship with Him
Is anything hindering us
In this case relationship is everything
I remember I was giving console to a co-worker of mine were I used to work he was going through a troubled relationship he was down and out
I started to tell him about the Bible quoted some scripture he asked me can the Bible help us with relationships?
I said the Bible is all about relationships!
God's word is His relationship to us
1 John 3:1
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 4:12
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us

Love God with all our heart all are mind
This is the first greatest commandment
Giving God our all
Just like you say to your partner I love you with all my heart
The Bible says
One flesh we become one with our partner
We must become one with Jesus
Philippians 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Let our mind be in Christ Jesus!
If we give God are all
Neither our relationship with our partner will fall
Because if we learn relationship one on one
One on one with God
We can become one on one with each other
Just like the marriage certificate you signed with your partner you write your names in a book in the court
There is a certificate that is made when we except Jesus and have a holy estate of matrimony the names will be written in Heavens court
Our names shall be written!
In the Lambs book of life
And we will walk down that aisle
the streets of gold
Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Just like the bride is took into the thresh hold
We Enter in the Gates of the city!

As Always
I Stand By The Word
God Bless!

Revelation 13:1-3 “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”

Revelation 17:3-5 “So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”Revelation 14:7-12 “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

2 Timothy 1:7
God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.
Thoughts on today's verse
Power! We like that concept. When it is godly power, might does make right, because godly power is accompanied by love and self-discipline. These three together make a person's life effective. Live life to its fullest: not as a closet Christian, afraid of standing true and firm, but one who lives by God's power, shares God's love, and displays God's virtues.
Prayer:
Holy God, you are without comparison in your majesty and might. I have no right to come into your presence, and yet you have invited me here by your love and your grace. You are my Rock, my Fortress, and my Strength. I depend upon your guidance and your mercy to sustain me through my storms and to reclaim me from my stumbles. Holy God, you are without comparison and I worship you. In Jesus name. Amen.

What Heaven Is Really Like
by Doug Batchelor

Have you heard about Biosphere 2? It’s a state-of-the-art greenhouse built on three acres in the Arizona desert. This huge, sealed, computer-controlled environment was planned to be a miniature version of the much larger Biosphere 1 we call Earth.
Completed in 1991 at a cost of $150 million, Biosphere 2 had five ecosystem areas, ranging from rain forest to desert, and it was stocked with several thousand kinds of plants and animals. Eight scientists, called Biospherians were supposed to learn how to live off of this land, physically isolated from the outside world—but were allowed communication via phone and e-mail.
The designers envisioned humans creating a perfect, self-sustaining environment. But the project met with unforeseen environmental and human complications requiring outside intervention. Oxygen levels dropped so low that emergency oxygen had to be pumped into the complex. And crop production was so poor that it was supplemented from outside at times.
Some of the animal species died off, but one kind of ant thrived to the point that outside help was required to exterminate it. This proud vision of man making a utopia on earth became a joke.
Fortunately, God has a much better “Biosphere 2” planned for your future and mine. Let’s find out what He’s told us about it.
A new world
What about the new earth? John the revelator saw “a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.” He also saw “the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven [God’s dwelling place] from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband” (Revelation 21:1, 2).
The name Jerusalem means “city of peace.” The Jerusalem on this earth is anything but a city of peace today. Three major religions—Judaism, Islam, and Christianity—claim it as a holy place, making it the most fought-over piece of real estate in the world. The walls of Jerusalem are riddled with bullet holes! But God’s new Jerusalem will truly be a city of peace.
Perfect food and water
One thing we know is that this heavenly city will have an absolutely perfect water supply. John said that his accompanying angel showed him “a pure river of water of life” (Revelation 22:1, NKJV).* In today’s world, we have to add chemicals to the water supply to kill the bacteria so people don’t get sick. That won’t be necessary in God’s new Jerusalem.
Revelation also says that “on each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations” (Revelation 22:2). This verse doesn’t mean that people will get sick and use the leaves of the tree as an herbal remedy. I propose that this means spiritual healing. When we all gather together as one family under the tree of life, our divisions will be healed. We will be a united people.
Perfect health
Isaiah gives another description of God’s new earth: “Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy” (Isaiah 35:5, 6). Blind people will see, deaf people will hear, and crippled people will walk! John adds that “ ‘there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away’ ” (Revelation 21:4).
In heaven, there won’t be any need for doctors, hospitals, or funeral homes!
So what will you and I do in that new earth that Jesus is preparing for us today? Isaiah gave us a glimpse into that too: “ ‘They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit’ ” (Isaiah 65:21). Isaiah’s readers would have found that to be good news. Back then, warring nations or marauding tribes could invade your country at any time and take over the house you’d built and the orchard and farm you’d cultivated. Then someone else would live in the house you’d worked so hard to build and eat the food you’d labored so long to grow. In that context, Isaiah’s promise is meaningful. “ ‘No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat’ ” (Isaiah 65:22).
Even today, other people enjoy the products of our labor: Our houses get left to children or grandchildren when we die. Someone else gets to live in the home we worked so hard to build. But not in God’s new world! If you build it, you’ll live in it! If you grow it, you’ll eat it!
Perfect bodies
People have many misconceptions about heaven. Some people believe that when they die, if they don’t go to hell, they’ll turn into little cherubs who sit on clouds and play harps all day. No wonder so few people want to go to heaven—they think hell will be much more interesting! They don’t realize that in heaven they will have real bodies and do real things.
The Bible says that when Jesus comes, He will “transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). So what is Jesus’ body like today? When He rose from the dead, He walked through a locked door where His disciples were gathered in the upper room. They were sure He was a ghost, so He said to them, “ ‘Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself!’ ” He invited them to touch Him when He said, “ ‘A ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.’ ” Then, to emphasize that He was real, He said, “ ‘Do you have anything here to eat?’ ” Someone gave Him a piece of fish, and He ate it in front of them (Luke 24:39–41). Jesus wanted them to know that He had a real physical body.
So that’s the kind of body Jesus has today, and the Bible says that in heaven our bodies will be “like his glorious body.”
Will you be there?
Shortly before He left this earth, Jesus told His disciples that He would be leaving them to prepare a place for them. Then He promised, “ ‘If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am’ ” (John 14:3).
I want to be with Jesus in that perfect biosphere where there’s no sickness or death, where there’s no pollution, and where terrorists can never frighten me. Do you? If your answer is Yes, then there’s a key question you need to ask yourself: what does it take to get there? It’s actually very simple. Accept Jesus as your Savior from sin. Tell Him you want to serve Him as a citizen of His new world. He’ll see that you get there!
I’ve done that! I invite you to do it too. Let’s make an appointment to meet there!

Heaven across the globe
Buddhism: Several heavens, all of which are part of Samsara (illusionary reality). Those who accumulate good karma may be reborn in one of them. However, their stay in this heaven is not eternal. Eventually, they will use up their good karma and will undergo a different rebirth into another realm, as humans, animals, or other beings.
Muslim: Heaven (Jannat) is described in physical terms using jewelry and food. A key feature of life in heaven, according to Islam, is that no desire will go unfulfilled, nor will it take time for them to be fulfilled. Everything will be granted instantaneously.

The Time of Jacob's Trouble

Have you ever had to face up to something you did, and were not sure you had the strength to go through with it? Stick around, because today I’m going to look at someone who faced that very situation and we are going to see what that means for you as we head for the end of time.
SB (Shawn Boonstra): At one point, it ranked number seven in the Fortune 500, and its annual revenues exceeded $100 billion. But, of course, that was before the spectacular collapse of Enron in December 2001. And, of course, the name most people now associate with that collapse is that of CEO Ken Lay, who was convicted of fraud in May 2006. A few months later, Mr. Lay was dead from a heart attack. Now he will never have to face the possibility of life in prison for his crimes, and that’s a fact some angry people just can’t live with.
When news began to spread that the former CEO was no longer alive, scores of furious people began to express their frustration over the fact that Mr. Lay will never spend a day in jail. According to one MSNBC report, people were actually upset that Mr. Lay got the easy way out. Some went so far as to accuse Mr. Lay of further conspiracy, as if he some how paid off the coroner to pronounce him dead so that he could live his life in peace somewhere out of the public eye. Of course, it’s a little far fetched to think that Ken Lay’s heart attack was some sort of get-out-of-jail-free card, designed to help him avoid facing the consequences of his actions.
But, all those angry letters to MSNBC, in spite of the rather ungracious tone, reminded me of a story found in the book of Genesis, where thousands of years ago someone else had to face the consequences of cheating his brother. And that someone else, of course, was the patriarch Jacob, the man whose name became synonymous with the people of God. Maybe you remember how the whole thing started. In Genesis chapter 27, when Isaac their father was dying, he called Esau, the brother, to give him a blessing (Genesis 27:3-4):
“Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me. And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.”
Now that kind of talk didn’t sit well with Rebekah, the mother, because her favorite boy was Jacob, and God had promised her that Esau, the older brother, would serve Jacob, who was the younger brother. And to complicate matters even more, Jacob had already purchased the birthright, a special set of privileges set aside for the oldest boy, from Esau. And he did it by taking advantage of Esau when he was hungry.
So, when Rebekah a heard that Isaac was going to give a blessing to his oldest son, she quickly encouraged Jacob to pull a horrible stunt on his father.
R (Rebekah): Listen. Your father is old and blind. If you can disguise yourself a little, he’ll easily think that you are Esau. So hurry up and get in there because your brother could be back at any minute.
SB: Even though God had already promised that Jacob would be greater, Jacob decided to take matters into his own hands and force the will of God. And that, of course, was a recipe for disaster. Let’s pick up the story now in Genesis 27:41:
“So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessings with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, ‘The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.’”
When Esau finds out what happened while he was out hunting, it makes him furious. As far as he’s concerned, he’s just been robbed, and his first reaction, his gut instinct, is to kill his brother, Jacob.
Naturally, Jacob has to run and he stays away for more than 14 years. Now I wish we had time to examine the whole story more closely, because the life of Jacob is full of details that apply to you and me. But with the time I’ve got today I want to focus on just one small story, because when you start to unpack it, you discover it has a startling last-day application. Let me show you what I mean.
Even though the Bible is full of references to the life of Jacob, there is one reference in the book of Jeremiah that kind of leaves you scratching your head. Here it is in Jeremiah 30:5-7:
“For thus says the Lord: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labor, and all faces turned pale? Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.’”
That’s a pretty remarkable passage, because it describes a man so sick with fear that it looks like he’s giving birth. Now at first glance, this appears to be talking about the nation of Israel when they realized they were going to be conquered by Babylon, and that is true in the primary sense.
But the description is so vivid it kind of makes you wonder if there isn’t something else going on. What kind of trouble could be so great that in Jeremiah’s words, “There is none like it”? The answer is found in the last chapter of Daniel where there is this prophecy that predicts a final time of trouble. Listen to this (Daniel 12:1):
“At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.”
In no uncertain terms, the Bible predicts a final time of crisis for the people of God. According to this passage in Daniel, it happens just before Jesus comes, because the very next event in the very next verse is the resurrection of the dead.
And by the sound of it, this is not a time of trouble for the wicked. It’s a time of trouble that falls on the people of God, because the language is very specific. It’s talking about a people whose names are written in the book, and it says that Michael is the great prince who stands up for these people. So we know, in effect, that it’s talking about us.
Now that doesn’t mean that the rest of the world doesn’t have trouble. You only have to read the 16th chapter of the book of Revelation to see that in the final moments before Jesus comes, God pours out his wrath against the sins of the earth in the form of terrible plagues. And at that instance, God’s people will be able to claim the promise of Psalm 91, which says that (Psalm 91:10):
“No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling…”
But the Bible is also clear that there is going to be a time of trouble for the people of God, unlike any in the history of the world, and in the book of Jeremiah it is called “the time of Jacob’s trouble.”
So, why exactly does this happen? And what should we expect as we round the corner to the final events here on planet Earth? Why does the Bible use Jacob’s name to describe this? You find the answers in the 32nd chapter of the book of Genesis. After many long years of exile, which were the direct result of his foolish decision to deceive his father, Jacob decides it’s time to go back home. Let’s join the story now, beginning in verse one (Genesis 32:1-2):
“So, Jacob went on his way and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ And he called the name of that place the Mahanaim.”
Jacob is on his way back to the land of promise, the inheritance given to Abraham and all his descendants, and along the way, Jacob comes across a group of angels. It’s a clear signal that God’s presence is definitely with him as he returns to the place of his birth.
And in the same way, you and I have to admit that as we look back over the course of our lives, many times we can see clear indications that God’s been there with us. Maybe it was that miraculous time you got the job you so desperately needed, or the time you found a home you could afford when the market was playing against you and your income was barely enough to get by. Whatever it was, you can usually look back and see that God was there.
But then comes a moment of grief. A time when things aren’t quite so clear and we are tempted to think God isn’t there anymore because, for the moment, we can’t see Him. And that is where the story of Jacob comes into play. Just try to imagine what must have been going through his mind as he made his way slowly back to the scene of his crime.
The last words his brother ever spoke before he left were, “Just you wait until Dad’s dead! Then I’m going to kill you!” And in his heart, Jacob knew he deserved it. Lord, he thinks, is this really the right decision? Are you really sending me back home? After all the problems I caused and after all the heartache I created, is this really the best thing to do?
And then he sees them, a group of angels following his family as they make their way back to the land of Esau. It’s a crystal-clear signal that God is on his side and that he has nothing to worry about, and then he does something rather unbelievable. Once again, Jacob insists on taking matters into his own hands. Here is what the Bible says happened (Genesis 32:3-5):
“Then Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother in the land of Seir, the country of Edom. And he commanded them, saying, ‘Speak thus to my lord Esau, “Thus your servant Jacob says: ‘I have dwelt with Laban and stayed there until now. I have oxen, donkeys, flocks, and male and female servants; and I have sent to tell my Lord, that I may find favor in your sight.’”’”
Did you see that? Even though Jacob has the promise of God that he will be the greater brother, and even though he just saw an army of angels following him out in the desert, he still doesn’t have the kind of faith to really believe that God can take care of the details. So he sends a group of servants to bribe his brother Esau saying, “Listen, I know you are mad, but I’ve got all kinds of stuff and I’ll give it to you if you’ll just leave me alone.”
Let me ask you a rather pointed question. The greatest promise God has ever made to you in the pages of the Bible has to do with your salvation. In passage after passage, the Bible says that forgiveness is yours through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and there’s nothing you can do to earn your forgiveness. It’s simply a gift that is yours when you turn from your sins and ask God for forgiveness. Ephesians two says (Ephesians 2:8):
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God…”
And still, even though the Bible says that, there are moments when you have to admit that you want to take care of it yourself. Don’t you? It just doesn’t seem right that you can’t earn your salvation. Somehow there has to be something you can do to set the record straight, to pay off your debt and balance the books.
Now, there is no question that God requires good behavior from us. He expects us to live by His laws. But, you know, that’s something He wanted before we ever sinned. It is the minimum standard, and keeping God’s law isn’t going to fix the fact that you broke it. For that you need the atoning death of Jesus Christ, who paid your debt because you couldn’t. Never forget what it says in Romans 5:6-8.
“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
God’s not going to accept you on the basis of what you can do for Him. He’s going to accept you on the basis of what He can do for you. You don’t have to make yourself good enough to come to Jesus, because that’s not possible. And yet, a lot of people still doubt the promise of God, and just like Jacob, they try to fix things themselves.
There might be a Bible full of promises, there might be a band of angels following you across the desert, but still you want to fix things your own way, and just like Jacob, you are going to come up empty-handed.
Those servants came back without a thing, and that’s when the time of Jacob’s trouble began. Listen now to what happens in Genesis 32. It’s a long passage, but it’s important that we read it together, because it kind of speaks for itself. Here is what it says (Genesis 32:24-30):
“Then Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when he saw that he did not prevail against him, he touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as he wrestled with him. And he said, ‘Let me go, for the day breaks.’ But he said, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me!’ So he said to him, ‘What is your name?’ He said, ‘Jacob.’ And he said, ‘Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.’ Then Jacob asked, saying, ‘Tell me your name, I pray.’ And he said, ‘Why is it that you ask about my name?’ And he blessed him there. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: ‘For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.’”
This is the story of Jacob’s encounter with God as he wrestles with his past, and he knows he’s going to have to pay the price for his sins. He tries to fix the problem by himself. His mind is racked with doubts about what is going to happen. He wrestles with the consequences of his own sinful character, and then right in the middle of the night, when he’s completely alone with his anguished thoughts, he meets with God and they begin to wrestle.
You know, it is a strange thing, but often those who are closest to God are the ones most aware of their own imperfections, and I suspect that in the story of Jacob’s trouble, God is giving us a signal as to what we can expect in that final crisis before Jesus comes.
The picture painted by the book of Revelation isn’t a very pretty one. The whole world turns its back on God and worships a power inspired by the devil himself. And like the rulers in Daniel’s day, when they see a group that refuses to bow down to anything other than the Creator, their pride is inflamed and they turn with wrath against the God’s church, and in that moment they will feel absolutely confident that they are doing the right thing.
As the world pulls through to the final moments, they no longer feel the pangs of conscious that would convict them of their sins, because probation is now over and most of the world has gone past the point of no return. But the people of God, on the other hand, they’ve clung closely to God, and their hope rests entirely on the merits of Christ, and that is when the time of Jacob’s trouble begins.
All of the evidence is going to seem to point in the wrong direction. The last-day beast power is the one who works all the miracles. The overwhelming masses of the human race point to their numbers as evidence they can’t be wrong.
And for just a moment, ever so brief, it seems like the God they know simply can’t be found. It’s almost as if the people of God passed through a Gethsemane experience and a Calvary all their own—a moment where in the darkness of the night and under the weight of sin they cry out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Their faces turn pale, covered with the grimace of agony, like a woman giving birth.
But in spite of the pain, in spite of the mental agony, their faith is strong, and like Jacob wrestling with the angels, they cry out, “Lord, I’m just not going to let you go.”
You know, Jacob came away from his encounter with God with a damaged hip. For the rest of his life, he would have a permanent reminder that your own strength is not enough. Your own plans will never win the day.
One of my favorite Christian authors, in a passage I find especially meaningful, puts it like this:
“It was by self-surrender and confiding faith that Jacob gained what he had failed to gain by conflict in his own strength. God thus taught his servant that divine power and grace alone could give him the blessing he craved. Thus it will be with those who live in the last days, as danger surrounds them and despair seizes upon the soul, they must depend solely upon the merits of the atonement.
“We can do nothing of ourselves. In all our helpless unworthiness, we must trust in the merits of the crucified and risen Savior. None will ever perish while they do this. The long, black catalog of our delinquencies is before the eye of the Infinite. The register is complete. None of our offenses are forgotten, but He who listened to the cries of His servants of old, will hear the prayer of faith and pardon our transgressions. He has promised and He will fulfill His Word.”
There is no question about it; there are tough times ahead. All you have to do is flip through the book of Revelation for a couple of minutes and it is enough to keep you up at night if you don’t know Jesus. You see, it is knowing Him that is going to make all the difference in the world, and the better you know Jesus the more you are going to trust Him. You’ll discover He is a God who always keeps His word, and when the crisis hits, His word will be good enough. Just listen to how the final crisis ends (Daniel 12:1):
“At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.”
Did you catch it? The crisis ends with deliverance. It says the same thing over in Jeremiah 30:7:
“Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”
That’s the promise of God. You can take that to the bank. When the final crisis hits, you can face it knowing you’ll be delivered in a heartbeat when Jesus comes.
A young woman got a job in a textile mill and on the first day of work she noticed a big sign on the wall that said, “When your thread becomes tangled, call the foreman.” That made pretty good sense to her until hours into the job her thread actually became tangled.
Woman: “There is no need to call the foreman because this looks pretty simple. I’ll just sort it out myself.”
That is when she discovered why that sign was on the wall. The harder she tried to fix the thread the worse it got tangled, and the whole production line began to slow down because of her stubborn refusal to ask for help. Finally she gave in and called the foreman.
Female: “I already tried to fix it myself, and I did the best I could.”
Man: “That’s not the best you can do. To do your best, you should have called me.”
That is exactly the lesson we can learn from the experience of Jacob. In this life, you have a choice. You can try to do things your own way, but it is going to leave a mess of tangled thread. And the more you try to fix your moral deficiencies all by yourself, the worse the problem gets.
By the time we get to Genesis 32, the thread is tangled so badly there is not much hope. And that is when you’ll discover that the Bible has this big sign in it that says, “When your thread gets tangled, call Jesus.”
That is the secret of last-day survival. Those who make it through are the ones who realize they can’t fix the problem by themselves, and in those final dark moments before Jesus comes, they are going to survive on their faith in God’s ability. One day you are going to have to face your record—there is no ducking out. The question is: Are you going to face it on your own, or will you finally trust God to handle it for you?
Why don’t we pray together?
PRAYER:
Father, we have to admit that we’ve made an awful mess of our lives, and the harder we try to fix it the worse it seems to get. So today we are going to take a step in faith. We’d rather trust you and let you sort it out with us. Teach us to live by faith and lean on Jesus. For we pray it in His name, Amen.
Scriptures Used in “The Time of Jacob's Trouble”
“Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me. And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.”
—Genesis 27:3-4
“So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessings with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, ‘The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.’”
—Genesis 27:41
“For thus says the Lord: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labor, and all faces turned pale? Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.’”
—Jeremiah 30:5-7
“At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.”
—Daniel 12:1
“No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling…”
—Psalm 91:10
“So, Jacob went on his way and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ And he called the name of that place the Mahanaim.”
— Genesis 32:1-2
“Then Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother in the land of Seir, the country of Edom. And he commanded them, saying, ‘Speak thus to my lord Esau, “Thus your servant Jacob says: ‘I have dwelt with Laban and stayed there until now. I have oxen, donkeys, flocks, and male and female servants; and I have sent to tell my Lord, that I may find favor in your sight.’”’”
—Genesis 32:3-5
“ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God…”
—Ephesians 2:8
—Genesis 32:24-30
“At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.”
—Daniel 12:1
“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:6-8

Lop-sided Christians
For reading & meditation: Philippians 4:2-9
"' if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." (v.8)
We continue to look at the dramatic change in the life of the psalmist when he entered into the sanctuary. It is important to realise that it was not merely the physical act of entering the sanctuary that brought about change. That was important, but something else happened that was even more important. Listen again to how he puts it: "[When] I entered the sanctuary ' then I understood their final destiny" (Psa. 73:17). The word to note is "understood". In the presence of God the psalmist was given clear understanding. This is an extremely important point and one which cannot be emphasised too strongly: what he found in the sanctuary was not merely a nice feeling but a new understanding. He was put right in his thinking. He did not merely forget his problem for a little while - he found a solution. The idea that many Christians have of the house of God or Christian fellowship is that it is a good place to go in order to forget one's troubles for a while. They are soothed by the music and the singing, or perhaps, in some churches, by the beauty of the architecture, and they come away saying, "What a lovely feeling I get whenever I go to church." There is nothing wrong with that as far as it goes, of course, but the real issue is this: has anything happened to their minds? The psalmist was not changed by the architecture of the Temple; he was changed when his thinking was put right: "Then I understood their final destiny." If the practice of our faith does nothing more than excite our emotions and fails to give us a better understanding of God and His ways, then we will be lop-sided Christians.
Prayer:
O Father, save me from becoming a lop-sided Christian. Give me not only joy to thrill my emotions but understanding to guide my intellect. In Jesus' Name I ask it. Amen.
For further study:
Psalms 48:1-9; 1 Samuel 12:24
1. What did the psalmist meditate on in the Temple?
2. What are we to consider?
