Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

The Lord wrote this promise in His WORD, guaranteeing results if we simply, Make The Call. God is asking His children to "Call Unto Him". This is specific and direct. Before I forget, let me give you the toll free number to call, 1-800-LORD.

The downside of claiming God's promise is PRESUMPTION. This perspective says, I pray to God, claim His promise and expect Him to answer the way I want Him to REGARDLESS! This angle presupposes that God MUST do it your way or the highway. When you and I Make The Call to God through prayer and fasting, detailing our request and petitions to Him, we approach Him in humility because of WHO He is and WHEN He wants to open the vault of heaven to bless us.

We are to pray and believe in Him, that the BEST ANSWER according to what His heavenly wisdom and insight know we need RIGHT NOW! The smart thing to do is to pray for the Sovereign will of God to be done according to what He knows and promised to do.

His WORD promises that He will answer, but not according to our timetable, why? If God answered our prayers exactly the way we asked, when we asked, and how we asked, PRIDE would set in making us think we have a monopoly on God and we find ourselves taking glory from Him to ourselves. Remember, we NEED Him, He doesn't need us.

Isaiah 59:2 clearly outlines why we may be delayed from receiving the desired answer we need. This doesn't mean your daily needs won't be supplied. God allows the sun to shine on the just and the unjust. The answers we need deals with BLESSINGS UNTOLD and UNLIMITED that you don't have to ask for. When our lives are hid with God in Christ, and when we aren't willfully sinning against God knowing He has pointed out to us what is separating us from Him, it is then that we're in harmony with His will. Please read Proverbs 28:13. If we resort to trying to stop sinning so we can get blessed, we've lost out already. Loving Him more than anything, and anyone is something He grows us into based on our daily walk and relationship. The key here is to CONNECT with the loving Savior we have who loves us unconditionally. Read Jeremiah 31:3

Finally, He says, I WILL show you GREAT and MIGHTY THINGS, that i've prepared that you have NO CLUE about. The blessings have our names on them. They have already been set aside by God for us. He wants us to MAKE THE CALL today. Make because you LOVE HIM, make it because you NEED HIM, make it because He is God and beside Him there is no other. The Lord wants us WHOLE and HAPPY everyday of our lives. Line up with Him. Don't allow anyone to BLOCK YOUR BLESSINGS!

Please Read Psalms 34:4-10 and Psalms 84:11.

Lord, whatever you're doing in this Season, don't do it without me!

Habakkuk 3:19 The Lord God is my STRENGTH and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

The Christian journey is juxtaposed with rewards and challenges. As pilgrims, we're simply passing through this world, enroute to a land whose builder and Maker is God.

Intuitively, we're confronted with thoughts of faith and fear at the same time. Some have even said, I don't feel like going on, the journey is too great for me. I didn't anticipate so many trials. I didn't expect the unexpected nor was I prepared for the inevitable in my life.

Let's examine the word Strength. This word strength was used 264 in the Old Testament, but the majority of the time the word refers to spiritual strength-to the the strength of the Lord. The Hebrew word "chayil" is translated strength. It can also be translated as "efficiency", "wealth", army", warrior", or "influence". It comes from the same root as the verb CHIL, which means "to be strong" or "to be firm". Habakkuk used CHAYIL to assert that his strength came from the Lord (Hab. 3:19)

This strength from the Lord is what enabled the prophet to live by FAITH, not by sight. (Hab. 2:4) Meditation on His WORD changed his thoughts from negativity to positivity. He allowed the mind of Christ to become his by thinking God's thoughts based on His WORD. In other words, seeing through the thoughts of God encouraged his heart, lifted his spirit, and gave him strength for the journey!

The blessing of living by faith is NOT finding the power WITHIN OURSELVES to believe, but instead lies in the fact the Lord INVESTS His strength IN US. Habakkuk was looking for INNER STRENGTH from the Lord for His victories. Through daily prayer and a sense of vulnerability to the Lord who knows our hearts inside out, lay open your soul to Him, who will give us His strength for today's journey, not tomorrow's worries. As thy days, so shall thy strength be!

Please be encouraged by the follows Scriptures:

Psalms 18:32, 39; Psalms 84:7; Ephesians 1:19; Phil. 4:13; and Isaiah 40:31.

Be Encouraged In The Lord Today!

Q & A on Doctrine

The book, Seventh-day Adventists Answer Questions On Doctrine was written to answer specific questions asked by certain scholars and representatives of other Christian denominations as to what we believed on certain major doctrinal points. Thus it does not cover the full spectrum of SDA thought, but only those areas in which other Christians wanted explanation of things they had heard about our beliefs.

Hebrews 11:6 But without FAITH it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God MUST BELIEVE that He is, and that He is a REWARDER of them that DILIGENTLY seek Him.

Faith involves believing that someone else will do something that is NOT YET VISIBLE or that has not yet happened. To have faith is to relinquish trust in one's self and to put that trust in another. For example, the woman with the issue of blood, who put her trust in physicians, but to no avail. When she heard of Jesus and what He did for others, she put ALL her trust in Him and believed He could heal her. Luke 8:43-48

At what point did the woman start believing? She heard testimonies of others acknowledging the power of God in their lives. Not only that, she saw the evidence of His intervention in their lives. Having done all she could to better herself, she became worse.

1.Sometimes God will allow all of our resources to run out.

Believe it or not, Jesus won't do EVERYTHING for us even when performing a miracle in us! The woman was keenly aware she had a problem or that she had "ISSUES". She didn't sit around having a pity party for herself. Human effort connects with Divine Initiative, which produces miracles. God expects us to THINK through our issues, coupled with prayer to Him for guidance and direction. The woman concluded she needed to visit her OBGYN doctor. Remember, she was seeking a solution for her problem that was BIGGER than her ability to handle. All the while, Jesus was mindful of her hearts desire for relief and healing. By allowing her resources to run out, she no longer had an AGENDA which to operate from. Jesus stretched out her prayer life by moving the desired blessing in her direction as she pressed her way towards Him.

2. Press your way through pain and difficulty.

The woman's "issues" were obvious to others who saw her and knew her. When the need and desire to be DELIVERED is greater that what others think and believe, you are well on your way. Through pain and difficulty, she pressed her way through the crowd, not despairing because of them. In other words, when you are driven from within by a faith that says, I won't let go until i'm blessed. Her faith didn't SEE the visible answer, but it BELIEVED in Him who could provide it. In her mind she believed she was healed, but only needed to get to Him to validate her faith!

3. Jesus swayed the crowd in her direction.

When we're able to believe even in the absence of EVIDENCE, our faith in God will bring His desired solution to our faith. Jesus was mindful of the faith of the woman. She wasn't the only one with "issues" in the crowd. The woman was the only one DESPARATE enough to do something about her situation. When we have drive and passion to come out of the mess we're in, God creates opportunities to bring to fruition what we believe. You and I must SEE IT before we HAVE IT. Based on her belief and faith in God, He REWARDED HER DILIGENCE! It's time for the saints of God to declare ALL OUT WAR on the enemy to CLAIM what God says is rightfully ours. Shake the devil off, rebuke depression, tell sin its got to go right now. The desire to be BETTER rather than BITTER leads to your ultimate breakthrough! The Heavenly radar of Jesus starting buzzing, because of the woman's faith touched His heart. She prayed through her pain, she pressed through her difficulty, she refused to allow people to block her blessing and she wanted Him just as much as she wanted IT.

Jesus, touched by her faith in Him, rewarded her EFFORTS to better herself. Until we get up from our situation and move in the direction of the One who has all power in His hands, nothing happens! Jesus moved the crowd in the direction of her faith in Him. The crowd was blessed by His presence, but not by His power. Are you willing today to say, Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief.

Remember, No Faith No Reward!

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Spirit of Prophecy

The power of the love of Christ wrought a transformation of character. This is the sure result of union with Jesus. When Christ abides in the heart, the whole nature is transformed. Steps to Christ, p. 73

I Consecrate My All I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom. 12:1 God calls for whole-souled consecration to His ways. Our highest powers are to be carefully cultivated. Our talents are lent us by God for use, not to be perverted or abused. They are to be improved by use, that they may do the work of God. We are to give ourselves to the service of God, and we should seek to make the offering as nearly perfect as possible. God will not be pleased with anything less than the best we can offer. Those who love Him with all the heart will desire to give Him the best service of the life, and they will be constantly seeking to bring every power of their being into harmony with the laws that will promote their ability to do His will. Personal consecration is necessary, and we cannot have this unless heart holiness is cultivated and cherished. Let your prayer be, "Take me, O Lord, as wholly Thine. I lay all my plans at Thy feet. Use me today in Thy service. Abide with me, and let all my work be wrought in Thee." This is a daily matter. The surrender of all our powers to God greatly simplifies the problem of life. It weakens and cuts short a thousand struggles with the passions of the natural heart. Religion is as a golden cord that binds the souls of both youth and aged to Christ. Through it the willing and obedient are brought safely through dark and intricate paths to the city of God. . . . How many times have the deep things of God been unfolded before us, and how highly should we prize these precious privileges. . . . The bright beams of Heaven's light are shining upon your pathway. . . . Receive and cherish every Heaven-sent ray, and your path will grow brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. >From My Life Today - Page 6

An Account of the Cruel Handling and Burning of Nicholas Burton, an English Merchant, in Spain
The fifth day of November, about the year of our Lord 1560, Mr. Nicholas Burton, citizen sometime of London, and merchant, dwelling in the parish of Little St. Bartholomew, peaceably and quietly, following his traffic in the trade of merchandise, and being in the city of Cadiz, in the party of Andalusia, in Spain, there came into his lodging a Judas, or, as they term them, a familiar of the fathers of Inquisition; who asking for the said Nicholas Burton, feigned that he had a letter to deliver into his own hands; by which means he spake with him immediately. And having no letter to deliver to him, then the said promoter, or familiar, at the motion of the devil his master, whose messenger he was, invented another lie, and said he would take lading for London in such ships as the said Nicholas Burton had freighted to lade, if he would let any; which was partly to know where he loaded his goods, that they might attach them, and chiefly to protract the time until the sergeant of the Inquisition might come and apprehend the body of the said Nicholas Burton; which they did incontinently.
He then well perceiving that they were not able to burden or charge him that he had written, spoken, or done any thing there in that country against the ecclesiastical or temporal laws of the same realm, boldly asked them what they had to lay to his charge that they did so arrest him, and bade them to declare the cause, and he would answer them. Notwithstanding they answered nothing, but commanded him with threatening words to hold his peace, and not speak one word to them.
And so they carried him to the filthy common prison of the town of Cadiz where he remained in irons fourteen days amongst thieves.
All which time he so instructed the poor prisoners in the Word of God, according to the good talent which God had given him in that behalf, and also in the Spanish tongue to utter the same, that in that short space he had well reclaimed several of those superstitiuous and ignorant Spaniards to embrace the Word of God, and to reject their popish traditions.
Which being known unto the officers of the Inquisition, they conveyed him laden with irons from thence to a city called Seville, into a more cruel and straiter prison called Triana, where the said fathers of the Inquisition proceeded against him secretly according to their accustomable cruel tyranny, that never after he could be suffered to write or speak to any of his nation: so that to this day it is unknown who was his accuser.
Afterward, the twentieth of December, they brought the said Nicholas Burton, with a great number of other prisoners, for professing the true Christian religion, into the city of Seville, to a place where the said inquisitors sat in judgment which they called auto, with a canvas coat, whereupon in divers parts was painted the figure of a huge devil, tormenting a soul in a flame of fire, and on his head a copping tank of the same work.
His tongue was forced out of his mouth with a cloven stick fastened upon it, that he should not utter his conscience and faith to the people, and so he was set with another Englishman of Southampton, and divers other condemned men for religion, as well Frenchmen as Spaniards, upon a scaffold over against the said Inquisition, where their sentences and judgments were read and pronounced against them.
And immediately after the said sentences given, they were carried from there to the place of execution without the city, where they most cruelly burned them, for whose constant faith, God is praised.
This Nicholas Burton by the way, and in the flames of fire, had so cheerful a countenance, embracing death with all patience and gladness, that the tormentors and enemies which stood by, said, that the devil had his soul before he came to the fire; and therefore they said his senses of feeling were past him.
It happened that after the arrest of Nicholas Burton aforesaid, immediately all the goods and merchandise which he brought with him into Spain by the way of traffic, were (according to their common usage) seized, and taken into the sequester; among which they also rolled up much that appertained to another English merchant, wherewith he was credited as factor. Whereof as soon as news was brought to the merchant as well of the imprisonment of his factor, as of the arrest made upon his goods, he sent his attorney into Spain, with authority from him to make claim to his goods, and to demand them; whose name was John Fronton, citizen of Bristol.
When his attorney was landed at Seville, and had shown all his letters and writings to the holy house, requiring them that such goods might be delivered into his possession, answer was made to him that he must sue by bill, and retain an advocate (but all was doubtless to delay him,) and they forsooth of courtesy assigned him one to frame his supplication for him, and other such bills of petition, as he had to exhibit into their holy court, demanding for each bill eight reals, albeit they stood him in no more stead than if he had put up none at all. And for the space of three or four months this fellow missed not twice a day attending every morning and afternoon at the inquisitors' palace, suing unto them upon his knees for his despatch, but especially to the bishop of Tarracon, who was at that very time chief of the Inquisition at Seville, that he of his absolute authority would command restitution to be made thereof; but the booty was so good and great that it was very hard to come by it again.
At length, after he had spent four whole months in suits and requests, and also to no purpose, he received this answer from them, that he must show better evidence, and bring more sufficient certificates out of England for proof of this matter, than those which he had already presented to the court. Whereupon the party forthwith posted to London, and with all speed returned to Seville again with more ample and large letters testimonial, and certificates, according to their requests, and exhibited them to the court.
Notwithstanding, the inquisitors still shifted him off, excusing themselves by lack of leisure, and for that they were occupied in more weighty affairs, and with such answers put him off, four months after.
At last, when the party had well nigh spent all his money, and therefore sued the more earnestly for his despatch, they referred the matter wholly to the bishop, of whom, when he repaired unto him, he made answer, 'That for himself, he knew what he had to do, howbeit he was but one man, and the determination appertained to the other commissioners as well as unto him;' and thus by posting and passing it from one to another, the party could obtain no end of his suit. Yet for his importunity's sake, they were resolved to despatch him: it was on this sort: one of the inquisitors, called Gasco, a man very well experienced in these practices, willed the party to resort unto him after dinner.
The fellow being glad to hear this news, and supposing that his goods should be restored unto him, and that he was called in for that purpose to talk with the other that was in prison to confer with him about their accounts, rather through a little misunderstanding, hearing the inquisitors cast out a word, that it should be needful for him to talk with the prisoner, and being thereupon more than half persuaded, that at length they meant good faith, did so, and repaired thither about the evening. Immediately upon his coming, the jailer was forthwith charged with him, to shut him up close in such a prison where they appointed him.
The party, hoping at the first that he had been called for about some other matter, and seeing himself, contrary to his expectation, cast into a dark dungeon, perceived at length that the world went with him far otherwise than he supposed it would have done.
But within two or three days after, he was brought into the court, where he began to demand his goods: and because it was a device that well served their turn without any more circumstance, they bid him say his Ave Maria: Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum, benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui Jesus Amen.
The same was written word by word as he spake it, and without any more talk of claiming his goods, because it was needless, they commanded him to prison again, and entered an action against him as a heretic, forasmuch as he did not say his Ave Maria after the Romish fashion, but ended it very suspiciously, for he should have added moreover; Sancta Maria mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus: by abbreviating whereof, it was evident enough (said they) that he did not allow the mediation of saints.
Thus they picked a quarrel to detain him in prison a longer season, and afterward brought him forth upon their stage disguised after their manner; where sentence was given, that he should lose all the goods which he sued for, though they were not his own, and besides this, suffer a year's imprisonment.
Mark Brughes, an Englishman, master of an English ship called the Minion, was burned in a city in Portugal.
William Hoker, a young man about the age of sixteen years, being an Englishman, was stoned to death by certain young men in the city of Seville, for the same righteous cause.

Is the Virgin Mary Dead or Alive?

The New Eve of the Coming New Age
Chapter 18
Friends, the final events will be rapid ones because God “will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness.” (Rom. 9: 28). Satan, therefore, knowing his time is running out, is working diligently to deceive the world through his lying sophistries, in which the Marian Movement is a key pawn. This player continues its assaults against the truths of the Bible by making the claim that Mary is the “Second or New Eve,” because as our so- called “CoRedeemer, Mediatrix, and Advocate,” she plays a major role in our salvation. In fact, in the August 25, 1997, issue of Newsweek , which portrayed the Virgin Mary on its cover, it stated in their feature article entitled “Hail Mary,” that “a growing movement in the Roman Catholic Church wants the pope to proclaim a new, controversial dogma: that Mary is Co- Redeemer . Will he do it… in time for the millenium?” “In the last four years, the pope has received 4,340,429 signatures from 157 countries— an average of 100,000 a month— supporting the proposed doctrine,” added Newsweek.
Friends, does the Bible tell us in John 3: 16, that: “God so loved the world, that he gave the Virgin Mary, that whosoever believeth in her should not perish, but have everlasting life”? Of course it doesn’t! It was Christ who bore the sins of the whole world. He is called the second Adam, because He took upon Himself human nature and passed over the ground where the first Adam fell. “For verily he took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham.… like unto His brethren… a merciful and faithful high priest… to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.” (Heb. 2: 16, 17). Yet, the authors of The Thunder of Justice have the audacity to argue that since Christ was conceived in Mary by the Holy Ghost [see Matt. 1: 18, 20], Mary, therefore, is the Holy Spirit’s wife or spouse— she is the bride of the Holy Spirit , and together they will give the call: “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come, And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev. 22: 17). But that is not what the verse implies at all! The “bride” in this verse refers to the holy city, the New Jerusalem. The Bible clearly states: “And I John saw the holy city , new Jerusalem , coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues… saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife . And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem , descending out of heaven from God.” (Rev. 21: 2, 9, 10). Friends, it is not the Virgin Mary, but the still small voice of the Holy Spirit and the wooing appeal of the Holy City, the bride, that are calling every human being, every sinner, to heed the invitation to come Home to her— the “house” of “many mansions,” prepared for those who choose to be among God’s Redeemed. We should all “desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city [the New Jerusalem].” (Hebrews 11: 16).
My home is not this earth, and I hope it is not yours either. My home is the New Jerusalem which will come down out of Heaven to this earth after the thousand- year period of Satan’s imprisonment on a desolate planet and forever plant itself on the soil of the Earth Made New (Rev. 21: 1, 2)! So was John the Revelator wrong when he wrote the words above— words that never once identify the Virgin Mary as the “bride” referred to in the Book of Revelation? Had he received a false vision from God in regard to these last- day events? Or are the appearances, apparitions, bleeding icons, and the words of this purported Mary themselves that which is wrong, indeed? Once again, the counterfeit Mary’s words contradict the Holy Scriptures!!!
The counterfeit Mary, last but not least, identifies herself as the “Queen of the Coming Age.” Where in the Bible are we told that a “Queen” will rule the Earth Made New? The Bible, to the contrary, tells us that the “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Rev. 19: 16) will reign in the Earth Made New, and that “a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal,” proceeded “out of the throne of God and of the Lamb .” (Rev. 22: 1).
The time is short, oh, so short! On Saturday, December 21, 1996, one of the stories in The Denver Post read: “Virgin Mary sightings rise as millennium nears . Hundreds flock to Virgin apparition on office tower.” The story reported that an estimated 250,000 people have come to the Seminole Finance Corporation building in Clearwater, Florida, to see the reflection on its windows that looks like the Virgin Mary. “In these times of sin and confusion, in these days of the approaching millennium, believers say the Mother of God is visiting Earth with increased regularity ,” the Post reported. “Seeing is believing,” they said. But is it? Can we trust our senses in this day and age? Should we? What does the Bible say? “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isa. 8: 20).

Revelation 13:1-3 “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”

Revelation 17:3-5 “So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”Revelation 14:7-12 “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

Exodus 20:1-26Ex 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.Ex 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 13 Thou shalt not kill. 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15 Thou shalt not steal. 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's

Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of PATIENCE, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

It's interesting that the English word "patience" uses two different Greek words to define it.

1. First Greek word is Makrothumia, literally means "long-suffering". It speaks of having "long-spirited-ness" or "calmness of spirit".
The ability, even under SEVER PROVOCATION, not to lose one's temper.

2. Second Greek word is Hupomone, which means, "to remain under" and "to stay put under". It has the idea of "remaining firm under" test and trials. Better translated is "endurance" or "stedfastness".

Saints, I want you to get this. Both words speak of the ability to take a great deal of punishment from evil people or circumstances WITHOUT LOSING ONE'S TEMPER, without becoming IRRITATED and ANGRY, or without TAKING VENGEANCE.

It includes the CAPACITY to BEAR PAIN or TRIALS, get this saints, without COMPLAINT. To FORBEAR under severe provocation, and to have the self-control the keeps one from acting rashly even though suffering opposition or adversity.

I pray you and I can see WHY God won't move in some cases, even though we fast forty days, pray unceasingly, and claim His promises. The very situations and circumstances we're seeking deliverance from, God uses it to develop one the fruit of the Spirit, PATIENCE.

Paul prayed three time for God to move the thorn from his flesh, but God said NO. Why Lord? ONLY God knows what's deep in the recesses of the heart that He can allow satan to use against us, but bring glory to His name at the same time. Whatever the weakness may be, God's power is prayed for in the life MORE than if the situation was abated. God allows His sufficient grace, which means, MORE THAN ENOUGH to cover you, while satan is challenging you. Our emphasis should be on the glory and power of God we're receiving, though severly challened by the enemy.

God will use our brokeness to keep us spiritual and prayfully dependent upon Him. This is why Paul said, he would rather glory in his infirmities, that the POWER of Christ might rest upon him. God answered his prayer by saying NO to his agenda. Paul's agenda consisted of a "comfort zone" mentality that said, i'm saved and no FURTHER trials are necessary!

Are you being challenged in your marriage? Have your kids lost their natural bone minds? Church members not heeding the words, No Mo Drama, up in here? The lost of a loved one?

God says, I have a PURPOSE and a PLAN i'm producing and preparing you for that's GREATER the PRE-INSPECTED trial i'm sending your way. I'm answering your prayer IN THE STORM, not out of it. Jonah didn't pray until he was IN THE FISH, then God allowed the fish to finish God's assignment for him, then he spewed Jonah out, right where he said he wouldn't go.

After you and I have suffered just a little while, when we stand on the sea of glass in a perfect square, we will cry, that Heaven was cheap enough!

God bless you as God develops PATIENCE in us!

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Pastor John E Parker
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall HEAR a WORD behind thee saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the left.

The Hebrew word for HEAR is shama, pronounced, shaw-MAH. The strength of this word places emphasis on more than "hearing" the WORD spoken! God wants the one "hearing" to listen intently to what is said, UNDERSTAND IT and DO IT. Shama can mean simply "to hear", "to listen", "to hearken", "to obey" or "to understand".

Luke 19:10 emphasizes the mission of Christ, to SEEK and to SAVE the lost. Being "saved" is NOT just a religious experience, it's a walk with God throughout the lifetime of the believer. Moses is a prime example of this. God met him where he was, then taught him His will, way, and work. Notice, his walk didn't start until God aroused his attention at the burning bush. When the Lord saves us, He wants to communicate with us from an intimate level, that we can discern and hear His voice speaking to us.

RELATIONSHIP is, loving God and Him loving us. Deuteronomy 6:3-5. The Lord through the Holy Spirit, births in each of a hunger and thirst for Him that's endless. Right when you think you've arrived, there's more of Him to be revealed. Matthew 5:6

TIME in with the Lord is crucial to discerning His voice and knowing He is leading us. God talks to us through His WORD. It's not just reading the Bible, it's discerning His voice through His WORD. Once we've read and studied His WORD, we talk to Him through prayer about what we've read!God wants to give direction, meaning, and purpose to our lives on a daily basis. If we don't do as Jesus did in Mark 1:35, we will miss the mark.

If we're not able to detect the Lord's voice, He will create circumstances like the "burning bush" to get our attention, that we may discern that it's Him. God will ALWAYS meet us where we are, making sure we can know that it is Him. God never speaks contrary to His written WORD. When we study the Bible, the inspiration from God through the Bible writers is transmitted to us to have the mind of Christ, I Corinthians 2:16 and Philippians 2:5.

The key to discerning God's voice is having quiet time. A time for meditation on His WORD. Allowing it's meaning to impact our lives through obedience. He uses people, circumstances, and even objects to get our attention if we're not able to detect that God is speaking. Please Read Psalms 25 and 27.

Revelation 3:20, Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man HEAR MY VOICE and open the door, I will come in to him.

It's very important that you read John 10:1-16

Spirit of Prophecy

______________________________

Jesus prayed for us, and He asked that we might be one with Him, even as He is one with the Father. What a union is this! The Saviour has said of Himself, "The Son can do nothing of Himself;" "the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works." John 5:19; 14:10. Steps to Christ, p. 75

I Give My Heart My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. Prov. 23:26 The Lord says to every one of you, "My son, give Me thine heart." He sees your disorders. He knows that your soul is diseased with sin, and He desires to say to you, "Thy sins are forgiven." The Great Physician has a remedy for every ill. He understands your case. Whatever may have been your errors, He knows how to deal with them. Will you not trust yourself to Him? The blessing of God will rest upon every soul that makes a full consecration to Him. When we seek for God with all the heart, we shall find Him. God is in earnest with us, and He wants us to make thorough work for eternity. He has poured out all heaven in one gift, and there is no reason why we should doubt His love. Look to Calvary. . . . God asks you to give Him your heart. Your powers, your talents, your affections, should all be surrendered to Him, that He may work in you to will and to do of His good pleasure, and fit you for eternal life. When Christ dwells in the heart, the soul will be so filled with His love, with the joy of communion with Him, that it will cleave to Him; and in the contemplation of Him, self will be forgotten. Love to Christ will be the spring of action. Those who feel the constraining love of God, do not ask how little may be given to meet the requirements of God; they do not ask for the lowest standard, but aim at perfect conformity to the will of their Redeemer. With earnest desire they yield all, and manifest an interest proportionate to the value of the object which they seek. It is the submissive, teachable spirit that God wants. That which gives to prayer its excellence is the fact that it is breathed from a loving, obedient heart. >From My Life Today - Page 7
